Inspect. Clean.
Care.
A progression, not a menu. Most sites start with one inspection; what it finds decides what gets cleaned, and how often it is worth coming back.
LUMEN Inspect
Find out what is
actually wrong
One flight covers the whole site — including the rows nobody has walked to this quarter. Any commercial site, whatever the size.
What we inspect
Panel condition
The state of the panels across the whole site, row by row.
Visible site issues
Damage, displacement, vegetation and debris on the array.
Where the dust sits
Dust rarely lands evenly. This shows which rows are actually costing you.
Thermal anomalies
Where thermal inspection applies, areas running warmer than their neighbours.
Accessible site infrastructure
Mounting structures, cable runs and adjacent plant, where visible.
What you receive
- Inspection report
- Visual documentation
- Thermal imagery where applicable
- Areas requiring attention
- Recommended next steps
LUMEN Clean
Clean more.
Access less.
Cleaning by hand is workable, and on a small array usually the sensible choice. On a large one it is everything around the cleaning that bites — access equipment, crew scheduling, and the weeks between the first row and the last. Best suited to sites of 100 kW and above.
What LUMEN carries
No equipment to buy
Your capital stays in generation, not in a machine that runs a few weeks a year.
No operators to train
No drone or robotics capability to build inside a business that generates power.
Deployment managed end to end
Planning, access, sequencing and the work itself.
Built for bigger sites
Made for sites where size and access decide what cleaning costs.
Works at any size
The same approach covers a factory roof and a solar farm.
One-off or recurring
A single clean, or a schedule under LUMEN Care when the site earns it.
Method
Cleaning is done with water at pressure. The pump and the water stay on the ground and the drone flies the nozzle, so nothing heavy goes up and nobody walks the rows. We agree where the water comes from — a tank, a bowser or a site connection — before the job, and the assessment says how much you will need.
It clears roughly 1,000 m² an hour, so a hectare of panels is about a day. The rest is chosen to the site: mounting, pitch, row spacing, access, and what the dust actually is. Dust off a haul road does not behave like harvest drift.
That assessment is what LUMEN Inspect produces, which is why most sites start there — it tells you where the dust is, and whether the whole site needs cleaning or just part of it.
LUMEN Care
A maintenance strategy,
not a one-off clean
A single clean fixes a number for a month. By the end of the dry season the array is back where it started — usually without anyone measuring how far. Best suited to larger sites, from roughly 500 kW upwards.
What a plan includes
Inspect
Regular drone flights, so the state of the site is written down, not assumed.
Clean
Scheduled cleaning, set by your site rather than by a fixed calendar.
Report
After every visit: what was covered, what was done, what was found.
Track
A history of the site: what has been done to it, and what it needs next.
Frequency
How often depends on how fast your own site gets dirty. We do not publish a fixed number, because a mine belt site is not a Harare rooftop.
Below roughly 500 kW, LUMEN Clean usually makes more sense than a full maintenance relationship — and an inspection will tell you which.
How it works
From first look
to a clean site
Each stage informs the next. Nothing goes on a schedule the site has not justified.
Assess
Size, location, how the panels are mounted and how they get cleaned today — enough to estimate what dust is costing you.
Free
Inspect
A drone flies the site with normal and heat-sensing cameras, and you get a report on what needs attention first.
LUMEN Inspect
Clean
Robots and drones do the cleaning. We bring the machines, the operators and the plan.
LUMEN Clean
Maintain
Checks and cleans on a set schedule, each visit written up, so you know the state of the site instead of guessing.

Find out what your
array is losing
Tell us the size of the site, where it is, and how it gets cleaned today. We come back with what the dust is costing you, in US dollars, and what we would do about it.
